Kai
Battle Overview
Kai (카이) is the boss of the Private Hall on the 88th floor of Nexus Tower - Delta 3. The fight is a two-phase encounter built around the Chrono Gauge: Kai periodically distorts time, and the party has to survive the distortion patterns while charging a Fever Count that determines how badly Kai is punished when the distortion ends. Throughout this guide, two numbers written as "60% / 70%" mean Normal / Hard.
- Normal: character level 270 or higher, monster level 270
- Hard: character level 280 or higher, monster level 280
- Time limit: 20 minutes
- Defense (PDR): 380%
Almost every Kai attack deals a percentage of your max HP and drains either your Chrono Gauge or your Fever Count, so the fight is won by dodging rather than by out-healing.
Chrono Gauge
The top of the UI shows the Chrono Gauge. It fills by 24 per second and caps at 1000.
Chrono Break
During Time Distortion you can press Tab to use Chrono Break. It costs 90 Chrono Gauge on use, then drains 30 more per second starting 3 seconds later (the in-game tooltip is wrong about this). While Chrono Break is active, Kai's patterns play out in slow motion.
Chrono Step
Press Space to use Chrono Step. One charge regenerates every 5 seconds up to a maximum of 3, and the current stock is shown as red marks at the bottom of the UI.
Phases
Cutting Kai's HP in half moves the fight into Phase 2, where the Phase 1 patterns return in slightly strengthened forms.
Rewards
Normal and Hard mode each drop their own reward set, with Hard mode drawing from a larger pool than Normal.
